Øyvind Mikaelsen

Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director
Mr. Mikaelsen serves as Chief Executive Officer and Executives Director since May 2018. He has 30 years of experience in the global subsea business holding various senior executive roles. His most recent position was Executive Vice President at Subsea 7. Mr. Mikaelsen began his career in the oil and gas industry with Kvaerner Rosenberg A/S in 1988. He then moved to Norske Shell before joining Subsea 7 in 1992. He holds a Master of Science degree from the University of Trondheim in Norway. 

Frode Garlid

Chief Financial Officer
Before joining DeepOcean as Chief Financial Officer in March 2018, Frode Garlid served as VP Operations & Risk in NOV Wellstream Processing. Prior to this he served as Chief Financial Officer & Chief of Staff of Fjords Processing which was acquired by NOV from Akastor ASA late 2016. Frode has also served as CFO of OneSubsea Processing Group (previously known as Framo Engineering). He has 17 years of experience within finance and operations in the oil and gas industry, mainly from different positions at Schlumberger in France, Africa, Russia and the Middle East where he gained broad experience within both EPC and services - and where he also held the position as Global Controller for the Subsea division of Schlumberger. Frode Garlid holds a Master of Arts with Honours in Economics Science & Finance from the University of Aberdeen in 2001, and law studies from the University in Bergen. In addition, he has attended the Executive Education at The Wharton School of University of Pennsylvania.

Mads R Bårdsen

Chief Strategy Officer
Mr Bårdsen has served as Chief Strategy Officer since January 2017 and as President of DeepOcean in Norway since 2009. Since joining the company in 2002, he has been involved with developing the company by holding various positions after being the first engineering manager of DeepOcean. These positions include Chief Operating Officer, Group Strategic Advisor on Operations and Strategic Planning and Director of Technology and International Business. Having gained more than 20 years of experience from subsea project management, technology development, and subsea operations, Mr. Bårdsen has also served as senior project engineer for Stolt Offshore, now Subsea7, specialising in design, engineering and operation of pipeline repair systems. He holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from NTNU, Norway, and professional degrees in finance and management from NTNU/NHH in Norway and National University in Singapore.

Louise Lewin

General Counsel
Louise Lewin is a UK qualified solicitor who has been a part of the DeepOcean group for over 7 years.  A commercial executive with extensive experience in international commercial contracting and dispute resolution for the oil and gas, defence, energy and renewable energy sectors.  Louise oversees legal matters in a variety of areas for DeepOcean’s management and global operations.  Louise is based in Darlington and heads up the UK Contracts Team.

Ingunn Øvereng Iveland

Group HR Director
Mrs Iveland joined DeepOcean in 2007 as Purchasing Manager. In 2011 she took responsibility for the HR and Business Systems in the role as HR and Admin Director for DeepOcean in Norway, with responsibility for group offices in Brazil and Mexico.  In January 2015 she was appointed Group HR Director.  Mrs Ivelands previous experience is from ORKLA, including three years as a Management Trainee. She has also held positions within logistics and production management within the ORKLA Group.  Mrs Iveland holds a Master of Science in applied Physics and Mathematics and a Master of Management from BI – Norwegian Business School.

Ottar K Mæland

Chief Operating Officer
Mr Mæland serves as Acting Chief Executive Officer since November 2017. Since joining DeepOcean in 2007, Mr Mæland has held various senior positions such as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Commercial Officer. His prior experience includes seven years at Norsk Hydro. Mr Mæland holds a Master of Science in Material Technology, a Business Economist Degree from the Norwegian School of Management and graduated from the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program.
