Construction Vessel Edda Freya On Charter
The team has been working hard testing the various systems including the first test runs with flexible product of the 150 tonnes Vertical Lay System (VLS) west of Utsira, Norway. Experienced Offshore Manager Tor Ellingsund has been pleased with the performance of the vessel and commented on the first ~200 tonne lift with the 600 tonne NOV main crane, “We could hardly notice any vessel movement during the smooth lift and ballasting operation”. The vessel will returned to port soon to start mobilising for the committed Maria scope for Statoil. Several Clients and industry stakeholders have been onboard the vessel already and others announced their interest in the new competitive-edge technologies built into the vessel. “There is a lot of experience put into both design, equipment selection and operation planning for this vessel and we are now exited to transform this into cost effective solution to our Clients” DeepOcean’s proud Offshore Managers Helge Hallesen and Tor Ellingsund commented.
The vessel will later this week commence its first operational project, and will then continue to operate on projects in the North Sea Region until the fourth quarter of 2016.
