DeepOcean Among The Most Attractive Companies To Work For In Norway

The ranking shows which companies students perceive as attractive and who they would like to work for in the future.

“The oil industry in general is in a phase with less recruitment, still it is important for us to be seen as an attractive employer. Big, reputable companies have complete different marketing budgets and recruitment spending than DeepOcean. Therefore we must have a clear strategy on how we promote ourselves and where we are present and visible to students and other potential new colleagues,” says Group HR Director Ingunn Ø. Iveland. “The energy, oil and gas industry gets a lot of attention and is perceived as a financial strong industry by the students. The subsea industry faces major important undertakings in contributing to effective and environmentally sound solutions to ensure the welfare in Norway. It is good to know that young people want to explore possibilities in “the deep sea” or DeepOcean if you like.

Students give us good feedback on the experience they have in contact with us. We want the recruitment and selection process in DeepOcean to be a positive experience regardless of the outcome for the individual. We have frequently been present at universities and colleges in several larger cities including Stavanger, Trondheim and Haugesund where we have offices. This has made the students notice us, which our high ranking on this list shows. In 2014 DeepOcean ran a summer program for engineers. Rumors have spread that summer interns got to go offshore on one of our vessels in the “sharp end” of subsea operations. Students get to have an impact and contribute from the get go.  This has been a very popular program and last year we received more than 300 applications for 5 positions!

Even though we are not recruiting at the same rate as last year, we spend time strengthening our brand awareness internally and off course towards our clients. Focus now is to take care of the great employees we have in the company and motivate them to continue their career in our subsea company long into the future”.

We are very proud the students have placed us on the list of the 100 most attractive placed to work in Norway.
